Islamabad (March 21, 2018): The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday rejected a contempt of court petition against the former interior minister Rehman Malik.
A three member bench head by chief justice of Pakistan heard a petition against Rehman Malik over contempt of court.
The counsel of Malik, Latif Khosa said that the contempt case was rejected in the intra-court appeal therefore the contempt notice is no more effective.
The chief justice remarked that the court would pick up such cases in next two weeks which were earlier not touched.
Khosa said that some so called social activist files these irrelevant petitions. On this, the CJP said that they had rejected around 55 of such sort of petitions.
Talking to media after disposing off of the petitions, Malik said that he was thankful to Almighty through whose help the eight year old case against him was disposed off.
