SC holds verdict to ban cigarette, shisha

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has held its verdict over the ban on shisha (hukkah)  smoking and cigarette across the country as well ban on import of shisha and also sought report from all provinces and federation regarding the ban.

The two-member bench of Supreme Court headed by Justice Gulzar resumed the hearing of case regarding ban on shisha smoking and cigarette, The prosecutor told court that all the shisha centers had also been closed on the court directives, however justice Gulzar showing his anger said that the shisha smoking was continuously using without any obstacle and government had not taken any concrete steps to stop shisha smoking while the Gutka, liquor and drugs were also sold without any bar.

The lawyer from KPK said liquor and drug are being used in shisha, on the remarks the judge asked the provinces and federation how much implementation has done over ban on shisha, The federation and provinces told court that the legislation to band on shisha being made and soon bill in this regard filed the assemblies.

Court directed the province to commence informative campaign to stop shisha, Gutka and cigarette and the steps  taken in this regard would be reported to court, after the court ruling hearing was adjourned indefinite period.
