SC Retains Death Penalty Of Murderer Of Woman, Four Children

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) retained five-time death penalty of a man who murdered a woman and four children.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa was hearing petition seeking acquittal and conversion of death penalty into life imprisonment in multiple murder case.

The apex court rejected the petition submitted by death row prisoner Faisal who had killed a woman and four children and later sentenced to death for five times.

CJP Khosa remarked that Faisal had murdered woman and children to steal jewelry while the kids were murdered due to fear of becoming witnesses against him and later torched the house to hide his crime.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government also opposed appeal by the culprit during the proceedings. Additional prosecutor general said that murderer of five people was not eligible to get mercy. Faisal had also confessed his crime before the magistrate, said the official.

Later, the apex court retained verdicts of trial court and Peshawar High Court (PHC) pronouncing five-time death penalty to the murderer.

It is noteworthy to mention here that Faisal had killed a woman, three children and minor maid during a robbery in 2019 while he torched the house to remove evidences of his crime.
