ISLAMABAD: A larger bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday resumed hearing of Panamagate case and the court sought the details of distribution of Sharif family’s inherited property after the death of Mian Muhammad Sharif, the head of the family.
Prime Minister daughter Maryam Nawaz’s counsel Shahid Hamid is advancing arguments before the five-member bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa and comprising Justice Azmat Saeed, Justice Ejazul Ahsan, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Afzal Khan.
At the outset of the hearing, Maryam’s counsel Shahid Hamid told the bench that Maryam Nawaz had submitted reply in the country which was signed by him (Hamid) as her client had authorized him.
Justice Gulzar Ahmed inquired from Hamid as what happened to the Sharif family’s inherited properties after Mian Shairf’s death. To which the counsel replied that there was no dispute in the family about the family properties.
Upon this, the bench sought details of the distribution of inherited property after the demise of Mian Muhammad Sharif.
It is to be mentioned here that during the hearing on Tuesday , the JI’s counsel completed his arguments. The Prime Minister’s lawyer Makhdoom Ali Khan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyer Naeem Bukhari and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid have already completed their arguments.
