SC Settles Ayesha Bawany College Case

Islamabad (October 19, 2017): The Supreme Court on Thursday settled down the legal fight between the Sindh government and Ayesha Bawany Trust as court handed over the custody of Ayesha Bawany Government College to the Sindh government till 2019.

A two-member bench of Supreme Court, headed by Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh heard Ayehsa Bawani College case. Court allowed Sindh government to keep custody of the school until 2019, after which the educational institution will be handed over to the trust.

The Sindh government also gave a Rs8.5 million cheque to the administration of Ayesha Bawani Trust, court ordered.

The court also ordered that admissions in the educational institute to be stopped till 2019. Ayesha Bawany Trust can be registered under another name, after two years the name of the trust will be removed from college’s name, SC said.

SC directed to provisional government to hand over three of the 17 classrooms of the college to the trust by October 31.

While giving his remarks, Justice Azmat Saeed said both sides must follow court’s orders, otherwise would face severe consequences.
