ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan has approved the hearing of the purported video scandal against Accountability Court removed Judge Arshad Malik.
The SC three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa will hear the case on July 16.
A citizen of Islamabad named, Ishtiaq Ahmed Mirza has filed the petition in the SC insisting the superior court to order an investigation of the purported video and take action against those involved as contempt of court to retain the dignity of the judiciary.
The petition viewed that the inquiry will respond to questions raised on the judiciary’s dignity, respect and independence and insisted the court investigating the matter at all cost.
The petition has made the federal government, Shahbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Shahid Khaqan Abbassi and Raja Zafar Ul Haq while the main character of the video Judge Arshad Malik and Nasir Butt also made the respondents in the petition.
