Islamabad (February 07, 2018): The apex court will initiate contempt proceedings against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) veteran leader Danyal Aziz today.
Earlier, the SC Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar had constituted three-member bench to hear the contempt of court case against Danyal Aziz for his contemptuous speeches against apex court and its judges.

The bench headed by Justice Azmat Saeed will hear the contempt of court case against Danyal Aziz on February 7.
Apex court has ordered Danyal Aziz to appear before court personally.
On February 02, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued contempt of court notice to Federal Minister for Privatisation Daniyal Aziz.

According to sources, the apex court issued the contempt notice over statements made by Aziz during different TV talk shows.
On Thursday, the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar took a suo motu notice of “contemptuous speeches” against judiciary made by PML-N leader and state minister Talal Chaudhry.
Earlier today, Supreme Court (SC) has rejected Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Talal Chaudhry’s appeal seeking time for three weeks to hire lawyer in contempt of court case against him.
According to the details, Minister of State for Interior Affairs Talal Chaudhry asked the Supreme Court for three weeks to finalise legal representation in the contempt of court initiated against him.
During the hearing headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal, the three-member bench asked Talal Chaudhry how much time he requires to appoint a lawyer over which, he said that he needs three weeks for this as counsels are busy.
The court issued show cause notice to PML-N leader and adjourned the hearing till next Tuesday.
