ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court on Wednesday while suspending the Islamabad High Court decision unfroze Capital Development Authority (CDA) account.
A three member bench of the apex court headed b y chief Justice Saqib Nisar heard a appeal filed by CDA against IHC decision to freeze CDA’s accounts for non-payment of land’s cost to a citizen.
The CDA counsel said that the court had constituted a commission for determinuing the price of the land. He argued that the IHC froze the accounts of CDA event before the commission report.
The court while unfreezing the accounts of CDA directed the authority to make payment to the citizen against acquisition of their lands. The court observed that if the authority did not make payment to the citizen, the apex court would hear the case by getting it transferred to SC from IHC.
Hearing of the matter was adjourned for indefinite period. It is to be mentioned here that IHC had frozen CDA’s accounts for non-payment to a citizen against acquisition of land.
