Schumacher-Driven Ferrari F2001 F1 Car Is Up For Auction

Web Desk (September 29, 2017):The Ferrari F2001 F1 race car was driven to championship victory by Michael Schumacher in 2001 and now you can own it. Only if you are rich enough.

It has the chassis number of 211 and that’s the same F1 car which greeted the checkered flag in Hungary and Monaco, way back in 2001 when Michael Schumacher annihilated competitors to win his fourth Formula 1 World Championship title. The F2001 F1 car gave Ferrari the edge which its rivals couldn’t match or beat.

A perfect combination of driving talent and racing technology, the Michael Schumacher-F2001 team-up gifted Scuderia Ferrari with its eleventh Constructors’ Championship title the same year. The good news is that now you stand a chance to own this magnificent machine which is a symbol of the one of the most memorable time periods in modern-day F1 racing. An auction is coming our way next month, ladies and gentlemen!

To be organized jointly by RM Sotheby’s and Sotheby’s, the Sotheby’s Contemporary Art Evening Auction is scheduled to be held in New York on November 16. Given the historical significance of the car in automotive racing, the Michael Schumacher connection and of course the whole idea of the winning bidder getting the opportunity to own an iconic and path-breaking F1 car, the organizers foresee the bidding war escalating beyond the $4 million mark.

If the F2001 does succeed to fetch more than $4 million at the auction, it’ll be setting a new record for modern-day Formula 1 race cars. And Ferrari seems to be keen to repeat the auction success it had recently with the last LaFerrari Aperta which sold for $10 million. A number which beat the previous record holder – the last LaFerrari hardtop – by $3 million.

The car is eligible to participate in historic motor racing events as part of the manufacturer’s Corse Clienti program, where Ferrari Formula 1 technicians, mechanics, and test drivers will be more than pleased to share their wealth of knowledge and expertise with the new owner. Ferrari can also house the car in its Maranello facility and transport it worldwide to events and private track days.
