PESHAWAR: Section 144 has been imposed in North Waziristan for the period of one month to retain law and order situation.
The declaration issued by the district administration said that the entrance of outsiders has also been banned along with the imposition of section 144 for one month.
The administration said as per the implementation on section 144 all rallies, congregation, gatherings will be banned while no one will be allowed to address objectionable speeches and legal action will be taken in case of violation.
Use of black glasses in the vehicles and gathering of more than five people on a spot will also be banned.
After the implementation of section 144, it is feared that upcoming election going to be held on July 2 will be canceled while the provincial government has requested to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to extend the Election Day for 20 days.
It is pertinent to mention here that section 144 is also imposed in the South Waziristan area on May 28 to ensure law and order situation.
