ISLAMABAD: The government on Saturday took back the minister’s portfolio from Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervez Rashid.
Sources said that the portfolio was taken back from Rashid over the leaking of national security meeting.
They said that Pervez Rashid will be no more part of the cabinet till the completion of investigation into the security meeting leaks.
The sources further said that cases under Army Act will be registered against those responsible for the security meeting’s leaks.
Prime Minister’s Spokesman Musaddiq Malik confirmed that ministerial portfolio was taken back from Perveiz Rashid. He added that there Perveiz Rashid was found to be involved in the security meeting leaks in initial investigation.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Defence Khwaja Asif left for Duabi along with his family members. However, sources said that Khwaja Asif will return the country tomorrow.
Later, in a twitter message Khwaja Asif said that he had came to Dubai to attend a marriage ceremony along with his family members.
Meanwhile, Principal Information Officer (PIO) of Information ?Ministry Rao Tehseen is likely to be made Officer on Special Duty (OSD) and there was an unannounced ban on him to leave Islamabad.
