Exemption of Agri Loans for FATA, Balochistan Proposed

Islamabad (June 3, 2017): The Senate Standing Committee has proposed the scrape of agriculture loans of Balochistan and Federally Administrative Tribal Areas (FATA).

The committee meeting held under the chair of Salim Mandwi Wala in Islamabad, which reviewed the situation in Blaochistan and FATA  and proposed the exemption of agriculture loans.

Senator Aurangzeb told the committee that three per cent was proposed for FATA in NFC award but it needs more funds.

He said that following the war against terrorism , FATA has destroyed completely therefore it required full support of Federation and provinces.

PML-N senator Chaudhry Tanveer proposed to increase in price of international business class tickets for non-filers, however opposing the proposal, Salim Mandwi Wala said if ticket prices increased people started buying tickets from abroad, therefore need to cautious before taking the step.

Senator Farhatullah Babar proposed special fund for the areas affected by terrorism starting from 20 billion rupees. He also urged  to increase of 20 per cent in government employees salaries and allocation of one billion rupees fund for human rights commission.

Secretary finance opposing the 10 per cent increase in pension said that pension expenses being burdened on government.

He said the pension expenses have jumped to 245 billion rupees and if not stopped it will become big liability for the federal government.
