Islamabad (February 13, 2018): The scrutiny of nomination papers of Senate election aspirants of all four provinces and Islamabad has been completed on Tuesday by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The nomination papers of seven candidates from Punjab, four from Sindh, Two from KP, Five from Balochistan and one from Islamabad have been rejected, while 27 candidates from FATA submitted their nomination papers for four seats as the scrutiny will be completed till February.Out of 34 candidates from KP for general seats the nomination papers of two candidates- Zafrullah Khattak and Ali Khan- were rejected.
Out of 47, the nomination papers of five candidates- Amir Waliudin Chishti(MQM) and Hassan Sabir (PSP) for general seats while Ahmed Chioy (MQM) and Sofia Saeed (PSP) for technocrats seats- have been rejected.
Nomination papers of four candidates- Hussan Islam, Muhammad Abdulqadir, Naseebullah for Technocrats and Tahira Khursheed for women seats- out of 27, from Balochistan have been rejected.Out of 34, nomination papers of seven candidates- Muhammad Bilal, Usman Khan, Sarfraz Qureshi and Abdul Karim for technocrats- have been rejected.
The nomination papers of former finance minister Ishaq Dar’s nomination papers, submitted on both general and technocrats seats, have also been rejected. The nomination papers of PML-N candidate Dr Tahir Mehmood have rejected.
The polling for Senate will be held on March 3.
