London (June 4, 2017): At least seven people have been killed and over 20 injured after a van ran over pedestrian on the London Bridge and stabbing incidents in Borough Market on Saturday night.
Whereas police claimed to have killed two terrorists and arrested the suspected van driver. According to the details, a van mowed down pedestrians as it sped down London Bridge in the British capital, leaving bodies lying in the roadway. A man with a “massive knife” entered a restaurant at Borough Market, just south of the bridge, and stabbed two people inside, said a witness.
Transport for London said London Bridge has been closed in both directions due to a “major police incident”. Bus routes were being diverted and the neighbouring Southwark Bridge has also been shut.
UK Prime Minister Prime Minister Theresa May said: “Following updates from police and security officials, I can confirm that the terrible incident in London is being treated as a potential act of terrorism.”
She said,”This is a fast moving investigation. I want to express my huge gratitude to the police and emergency services who are on the scene. Our thoughts are with those who are caught up in these dreadful events.”
