Islamabad (August 17, 2017): At least seven minors had been killed after rape in Kasur since January 2017, Senate Standing Committee on Human Right told on Wednesday.
According to the details, Mohsin Khan Laghari chaired the Senate Standing Committee meeting on Human Rights. The meeting suspended Transgender protection bill 2017.
While briefing the Senate body, Sheikhupura DIG Shahzad Sultan said that four of the seven cases had been resolved. Police could not find any clue in the remaining three cases, he added.
The DIG said that 111 cases of child rape and killing have been registered during the current year in Kasur. He said 115 out of 135 accused were arrested. The police said that most of the rape cases were reported during Asr an d Maghrib.
DIG Shahzad Sultan said that additional police contingents were deployed and monitoring tightened in the area so as to tackle with the criminals.
