Islamabad (November 01, 2018): Shah Mehmood Qureshi met with his counterpart Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov on his one-day visit to Pakistan on Thursday.
According to the foreign office spokesperson, “Pakistan and Uzbekistan held delegation-level talks at MOFA. Uzbek delegation was led by Uzbek FM while Pakistani delegation was led by FM Qureshi.”
During the meeting, both the ministers agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov is also expected to meet Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Pakistan and Uzbekistan enjoy a close and cordial relationship founded in mutual trust and understanding and augmented by strong cultural and religious affinities. The visit of the Uzbek Foreign Minister will contribute to increased mutual cooperation on the bilateral and regional fronts.
It would also reinforce Pakistan’s endeavors to deepen its engagement with Uzbekistan and build a strategic partnership with that country.
Previously, Iranian Foreign Minister arrived Pakistan to meet Pakistan civilian and military leadership. Iran’s FM arrived at the Islamabad International Airport (IIAP) Wednesday morning for what marks his second visit during the newly-elected Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government.

Zarif held a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi at the Foreign Office and discussed Pak-Iran relations and regional situation in detail.
“FM Qureshi welcomed Zarif at MOFA today. Detailed discussions on all issues of mutual interest including ways to enhance cooperation took place,” FO spokesperson Mohammad Faisal tweeted.
