Shahbaz Directs Senators To Ensure Attendance In Today’s Senate Session

ISLAMABAD: President of Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) Shahbaz Sharif has instructed all the opposition senators to ensure their attendance in the senate session called on Tuesday (today).

Opposition members of senate meeting was held in joint chair of Pakistan Muslim Leauge-N President Shahbaz Sharif and Opposition leader in Senate Raja Zafar Ul Haq at the banquet hall of the Senate.

The opposition meeting was attended by senators of PML-N, JUI-F, PKMAP, ANP, PPP, National Party and other six members as well which included Senator Rana Maqbool, Mushahid Ullah Khan, Pervez Rasheed, Tahir Bazenjo, Islam Uddin Shiekh and others members.

The meeting deliberated upon the senate session summoned on tomorrow for no-confidence motion against Deputy Speaker Senate Saleem Mandviwala while they also discussed the strategy regarding the no-confidence motion for removing Chairman Senate Saddiq Sanjrani and for this session will be held on August 1.

Former chief minister Punjab hosted a luncheon in honor of the opposition parliamentarians while he suggested the opposition parties to remain united to win the no-confidence motion against Chairman Senate Saddiq Sanjrani.

Shahbaz Sharif directed the coordination committee in the chair of Sabir Shah to keep in contact with all the opposition members while he said that the government didn’t have numbers to win the no-confidence motion against Deputy Chairman Senate Saleem Mandviwalla.

The PML-N President who is also the Opposition leader in NA offered the government a charter of democracy adding that more parties can be included in the charter of democracy.

He suggested that keeping the country’s condition in mind one should move forward carry all of them together.

Talking to media after the meeting Shahbaz Sharif said that 61 members of the opposition attended the moot while the opposition figure in Senate stood at 65. He informed that 27 senators of PML-N out of 30 attended the huddle while the PPP all 21 senators were in attendance.

Maryam Aurangzaib, spokeswoman for the PML-N informed the media that all five senators of National Party (NP), three senators of JUI-F out of 4, three of PKMAP senators were attended the meeting while one independent senator and one from ANP also participated in the huddle.

She informed that those senators who didn’t attend the meeting include Chuhdry Tanveer, Abdul Qayum Malik, Molana Atta Ur Rehman and Kamran Michael while Chaudhry Tanveer and Abdul Qayum Malik were no in attendance as they are abroad and Kamran Michael is in jail.
