Stranded Pakistanis: Shaheen Aircraft Reaches China

Lahore (August 06, 2018): A Shaheen Air International Aircraft NL-892 landed at Beijing, which left from Lahore for in the wee hours of Monday to bring back stranded Pakistanis in the Chinese city of Guangzhou.

The plane is scheduled to land back at Lahore Airport at  6 pm today.

The passengers had to reach Pakistan through a Shaheen Air flight on July 29 but they were left stranded after Shaheen Air flight was delayed due to dispute a with the Civil Aviation Authority.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) sources, about 324 passengers were stranded in Guangzhou after the cancelation of Shaheen Air International flight.

It is pertinent to mention here that Shaheen Air International was prohibited to utilize facilities and services offered by the CAA after failing to clear dues amounting Rs.1.5 billion.

The CAA has given special flight permission to Shaheen Air International to immediately bring back Pakistanis, stranded in the Chinese city of Guangzhou.Flight To Repatriate Pakistanis Stranded in China CancelledEarlier on August 03, the rescue flight to repatriate over 300 Pakistanis stranded in Guangzhou, China was cancelled on  over technical grounds.

Shaheen Air International (SAI) claimed that its flight bearing number NL 892 was stopped by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on technical grounds. The flight was supposed to fly to Guangzhou Friday to bring back Pakistani passengers.

Zohaib Hassan, Director of Marketing, SAI said “We were implementing on court orders. CAA raised a technical issue with the aircraft at the last minute. We are now in contact with other charter carrier companies and without the support of CAA, SAI will bear the expenses on its own to bring back Pakistani passengers to the country”.

Over 300 Pakistanis, stranded in the Chinese city of Guangzhou appealed to the Pakistani government to help them after their flight was cancelled on July 29.
