KARACHI: Inundated roads which including Shahra-e-Faisal, Sadar and many others have been cleared overnight in Karachi from rainwater as a third spell of moonson wreaked havoc in the metropolis.
The road flooded near Chief Minister house has also been made water free while rain water lowered at Kathore pond and traffic also restored at Steel Town Link road.
Earlier, third spell of rain claimed five lives in the city while torrential rain flooded roads across the city while low lying areas inundated.
According to Meteorological department, the highest rainfall recorded at Gulshane Hadded 86 mm, Gulistane Jauhar 78, Sadar 51mm, and Kemari 48 mm.
On the other hand, the rainfall also unearthed system of K-electric as power outages started as downpours lashed the city and half of the city remained with out electricity hours.
Power suspension lead to stopping of water supply to the city as pumping station stopped working with power failure.
K-electric said that the electricity can’t be restored until rain water is cleared from the roads.
As Eid Ul Adha approaching, the showers also worsened state of the mandis set up for sale and purchase of sacrificial animals as mud and water lying everywhere while people at home also faced immense trouble in taking care of animals.
