WEB DESK: Pakistan’s actor-director Shamoon Abbasi is all set to make his debut at Cannes Film Festival 2019.
Shamoon’s psyco-thriller ‘Durj’, which is based on the true events of cannibalism that took place in Pakistan, will screen at the Cannes Film Festival.
Shamoon Abbasi posted his invite to the Cannes 2019 on his Instagram account with the following caption:
“#DURJ and its esteemed Director” Mr Shamoon Abbasi” en-route to 72nd Cannes Film Festival” Proud moment for #teamdurj”
‘Durj’ will release in the UK, US, Canada, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar on October 11. This is the first time a Pakistani movie will be released overseas even before it hits Pakistani cinemas.
This is not the first time that a Pakistani actor is attending the French festival, as last year Mahira Khan made her debut on Cannes red carpet representing cosmetic brand L’Oreal
