Karachi (October 10, 2017): Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday adjourned hearing of a case relating to extorting money from a man booked in Airport attack case till November 8, 2017 and keeping his in illegal detention allegedly by CTD officials.
A division bench of SHC heard a petition regarding missing of alleged facilitators of Airport Attack case after their release by an anti-terrorism court and extorting money from them by Counter Terrorism Department officials by keeping in illegal detention.

During the hearing, the petitioner Sarmad Siddiqui alleged Jail Superintendent and CTD Officer Raja Umer Khatab had extorted millions of rupees from his family by implicating him in Airport attack case.He told the court that he had complained to DIG Amir Farooqi about it who had recommended registration of FIR against the officials involved in keeping them illegal detention and extorting money. However, no action was taken on the order of the DIG as yet.
He pleaded the court to order registration of FIR against CTD officials and Jail Superintendent.He further told the court he was kept in illegal detention for over 28 days and was pressurized to take back the case.
Justice Nimatullah directed the petitioner Sarmad Siddiqui to submit affidavit, observing that the court would take action as per law.
It is to be mentioned here that an anti-terrorism court had acquitted Nadeem alias Burger, Asif Zaheer and Sarmad Siddiqui in a case relating to allegedly facilitating Karachi airport attack.
