Karachi (September 19, 2017): The Sindh High Court ordered on Tuesday the inspector general to personally monitor the Tania murder case. The court also ordered the provincial police chief to provide security to the victim’s family.

The SHC Chief Justice Ahmed Ali Shekih heard the suo motu case of the murder of a grade 10 student by an influential landlord for refusing marriage proposal.

DIG Hyderabad and SSP Jamshoro appeared before the court. They informed the Chief Justice that the seven-day remand of the suspects had been obtained.The police officers presented a report on the progress of the case. The hearing was then adjourned until September 29.Earlier this month, Khan Nohani, a local landlord of Jhangara Bajara town of Sehwan, along with his associates, allegedly shot dead Tania, a class-10 student, by barging into her house after her family refused to marry off her to Khan.On Monday, police arrested the main accused.

Sources said Khan was arrested in a police encounter in Dharejo area of Balochistan over the weekend.
