Karachi (July 19, 2018): The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday has decided the appeals filed against the acceptance or rejection of nomination papers of contestants in the forthcoming election in Sindh.
According to details, most of the complaints of the candidates have been decided and only 11 appeals remain in pending in Karachi.
All the election complaints filed in Sukkur and Larkana benches have been decided.
Earlier, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) received another blow to its electioneering, when Sindh High Court (SHC) disqualified party’s senior leader Nisar Khuhro for the election 2018.
SHC upheld the election tribunal verdict, in which he was declared disqualified, which ousted him from the forthcoming polls.The opponent candidate Muazam Abbasi had filed the petition against Nisar Khuhro before election tribunal demanding his disqualification over concealing assets.
Accepting Muazam’s plea election tribunal rejected nomination papers of Khuro, however, he approached Sindh High Court Larkana bench against the verdict.
Meanwhile, the Apex Court allowed Sheikh Waqas Akram, the NA-115 Jhang’s candidate and PPP’s candidate for minorities seat, Romesh Lal to contest the July 25 general election.

Akram’s candidacy was challenged by a voter of the constituency, Mohammad Imran.
During today’s hearing, Justice Ijazul Ahsan observed that Akram’s nomination papers do not contain any false declarations.
Similarly, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed observed that there is no court declaration against the candidate’s college degree.
