SHC Grants Bail to Sharjeel Memon in Corruption Case

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday granted former Sindh minister Sharjeel Memon bail in a case pertaining to Rs5.76 billion corruption in the Sindh information department and directed authorities to put his name on Exit Control List (ECL).

A two-member bench comprising Justice Karim Khan Agha and Justice Omar Sial approved the bail of Sharjeel Memon and directed him to submit a surety bond of Rs5 million.

Earlier, a team of the NAB had arrested Sharjeel Memon in October 2017 after the SHC rejected his bail plea in the corruption case.

NAB officials also arrested 12 co-accused in the case who had been accompanying Memon in the court.
