Karachi (March 05, 2018): The Sindh High Court on Monday nullified the Sindh government notification for hike in fees of the private schools. A two member SHC bench comprising of Justice Munib Akhter and Justice Aziz ur Rehman were conducting the hearing into the case.
According to details, the apex court of the province reserved the decision earlier and announced it today, nullifying the Sindh government notification to raise the school fees and also directed the schools administrations to refrain from charging increased fees and late fees charges.
The court termed the recent raise in school fees as illegal and directed the provincial government to devise a policy comprising of regulations for fees increase.
Earlier, the petition from the parents said that the schools were not providing with the fees vouchers and how could they submit fees without vouchers. They were of the view that the school administrations want to charge late fees on old fee vouchers.
While on the other hand, the private school association office-bearers termed the five percent increase in fees as low.
