SHC Rejects Bail Request of Two officers in NBP Fraud Case

Karachi (May 30, 2017): Sindh High Court on Tuesday rejected bail application of two officers of National Bank of Pakistan in a multi millions fraud case.

A division bench of the high court heard bail application of NBP officials Waqar Ahmed and Asif Siddiqui in NBP fraud case.

The court after hearing arguments of the petitioners counsel’s and NAB law officer pronounced its verdict.

The court rejected bail application of the NAP officials.  The bench ruled that there was enough material and evidence to try the accused. In wake of the evidences on record, accepting the accused bail plea would be tantamount to abstracting justice, the court remarked.

The court had already rejected bail applications of other accused in the case. Both the accused are behind the bars for last five years.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had filed the reference against General Manager NBP and other on the charges of millions of rupees fraud and corruption in 2013.
