Lahore (September 17, 2018): The chief of PML-N Shehbaz Sharif demanded on Monday to the government to withdraw the increase in gas prices.
In a statement, former chief minister Punjab said that those who secured votes in the name relief were deprived of the poor people from relief.“It is the all-time high price hike in gas prices in Pakistan history and the burden of being faced by the people and it also further increase the price hike,” he said.
He alleged that the government has not any set police but only doing experiences.
Earlier, The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) approved an increase in gas tariff.
Finance Minister Asad Umar, who was chairing the committee’s meeting also approved the addition of a new tariff slab for sale of gas.

In view of Umar’s directives to not burden masses with the price hike, a larger increase in tariffs was placed on higher tariff slabs.
Furthermore, the import tax on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) was decreased to ten per cent. Importing the commodity is expected to decrease its price.
