LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Mian Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz have appeared before the Accountability Court in Lahore for hearing of Ramzan Sugar Mills reference and Ashiana Housing Iqbal Scheme case.
On this occasion, Police and administration set up strict security measures outside the court.
Judge Najmul Hasan is resuming hearing on the cases with former DG LDA Ahad Cheema and Fawad Hasan Fawad also in attendance.
It is to be noted that statements of witnesses; Arif Majeed Butt and Israr Saeed have already been recorded in the case.
Earlier on Tuesday, Lahore High Court (LHC) issued directives to remove the name of former chief minister Punjab Mian Shehbaz Sharif’s from the Exit Control List (ECL).
A three-judge bench headed by Justice Malik Shehzad heard on a petition filed by Shehbaz Sharif.
Shehbaz’s counsel stated that Shehbaz, whenever summoned, has appeared before the Accountability Watchdogs.
When questioned by the court over ongoing inquiry in assets beyond known sources of income case against the PML-N president, lawyer briefed that NAB began the inquiry on October 23, 2018 over suspicious transaction into the account of Shehbaz Sharif.
