ISLAMABAD: Senior Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader rejected the price hike in petroleum products and demanded the government to withdraw the notification regarding increasing petrol prices.
Vice-President of PPP Sherry Rehman said that the hike in petrol prices will create a new wave of inflation in the country adding that economy of the country is in struggling face and the government looks directionless.
She said that prices of petrol, diesel, and electricity prices are touching the sky while the hike in gas bills deprived people of bread and butter adding that agriculture is also affected by wrong government policies.

Sherry Rehman said that the Federal Board of Revenue could not meet its target despite imposing taxes on wide levels.
She said that the government wanted to increase earning by imposing taxes on goods instead of bringing tax reforms.
The PPP leader said that the government did not aware of common man problems adding that the government did not get any benefit by devaluing rupee.
She further said that the government has imposed the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the country before signing the agreement with it while the government did not consult the parliament over the matter even.
