Shut Down Being Observed in IOK Against Braid-chopping

Srinagar (October 21, 2017): Complete down is being being observed in Indian occupied Kashmir today against the unabated incidents of braid-chopping.  

The strike call has been given by the Hurriyat Conference leadership to register protest against unabated incidents of braid-chopping.Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik have urged the people of the valley to register their protest against the incidents.

Meanwhile, the puppet authorities have imposed restrictions in Srinagar to prevent people from staging demonstrations against growing incidents of braid cutting.

Restrictions have been imposed in Nowhatta, Maharaj Gunj, Rainawari, Khanyar, Safa Kadal, Maisuma and Kralkhud areas.

It is to be mentioned here that the incidents of braid chopping have created panic in the Kashmir Valley.

The police in the Occupied Valley have announced a reward of Rs 6 lakh for information leading to arrest of braid choppers.The Puppet Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti termed this as an attempt to create mass hysteria. “Braid chopping incidents are attempts to create mass hysteria and undermine the dignity of the women in the state,” Mehbooba wrote on Twitter.There have several reports of people being thrashed on the charges of braid chopping by self-styled vigilantes in the Valley.
