Karachi (August 1, 2017): The meeting of Sindh’s Apex Committee, which was scheduled to be held today in Karachi, was postponed due to unavailability of Governor and Chief Minister of Sindh.
As per details, the meeting was scheduled to be held at CM House today at 3:00pm. However, due to Prime Minister’s elections Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair is in Islamabad.
Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah also left for Islamabad to attend the oath taking ceremony of the incoming prime Minister.
Therefore, the meeting was postponed.
It is to be mentioned here that Corps Commander Karachi Lt Gen Shahid Baig Mirza, Inspector General of Police AD Khawaja and Director General Sindh Rangers Major General Muhammad Saeed and other high ups were to attend the meeting.
The meeting was called to to discuss the progress of the National Action Plan (NAP) and other security-related issues of the province.
The apex committee had earlier met on July 4 to review NAP’s progress.
The meeting was chaired by Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa who expressed satisfaction on the improvement of law and order in the metropolis.
General Bajwa had also suggested improvements in the internal functioning of Sindh police to include induction on merit, availability of young trained leadership and the strengthening of its leadership.
