Karachi (May 10, 2018): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Thursday presented Rs11.44 billion tax-free budget for three months for the fiscal year 2018-19.
Announcing the budget, Sindh CM said that the provincial government would not present a finance bill in the budget, adding that the next assembly will propose a nine-month budget.
He said that Sindh would receive Rs665.10 billion from the federal government, while sales tax on services would be Rs120 billion.
The Sindh CM also proposed a 15% increase in the salaries of government employees after which the salaries would reach Rs345 billion from Rs300 billion.
Sindh government allocated a total of Rs208 billion for education.
A sum of Rs100 billion have been allocated for provincial home ministry out of which Rs90 billion would be allocated for Sindh police.
The revenue has been estimated at Rs 1,028 billion. An amount of Rs 344 billion has been allocated for development expenditures.
