Sindh Is Being Treated As Step Mother: Murad Ali Shah

Karachi(May 11, 2018): Chief Minister Sindh has said that budget for education has been increased as compared to last year, Sindh is being treated as step-mother, he added.

Addressing a post budget conference, Syed Murad Ail Shah said he has been doing post budget conferences since last 8 years, present assembly’s tenure will end by May 28.

Criticizing federal government, Murad Ali Shah said no result despite talks with the federal government regarding development of Karachi.

He said Sindh has only been given development schemes of 300million rupees, is this justice with Sindh? Shah asked.Murad Ali Shah said that the PPP is much stronger in Sindh as compared to 2013.

Yesterday, Syed Murad Ali Shah presented Rs11.44 trillion tax-free budget for three months for the fiscal year 2018-19.

Announcing the budget, Sindh CM said that the provincial government would not present a finance bill in the budget, adding that the next assembly will propose a nine-month budget.

He said that Sindh would receive Rs665.10 billion from the federal government, while sales tax on services would be Rs120 billion.The Sindh CM also proposed a 15% increase in the salaries of government employees after which the salaries would reach Rs345 billion from Rs300 billion.

Sindh government allocated a total of Rs208 billion for education.A sum of Rs100 billion have been allocated for provincial home ministry out of which Rs90 billion would be allocated for Sindh police.

The revenue has been estimated at Rs 1,028 billion. An amount of Rs 344 billion has been allocated for development expenditures.
