Report Reveals Record of 12k Police Personnel Suspicious

Karachi (July 26, 2017): The inquiry report submitted to the Supreme Court by Additional IG says that records of more than 12,361 personnel of Sindhi police are suspicious.

The court summoned Chief Secretary Sindh on the next hearing. The apex court is hearing the case pertaining to cleansing Sindh Police of criminal elements.

According to the inquiry report records of 109,000 personnel of Sindh Police were reviewed of which records of 12,361 turned out to be suspicious.

According to the report 1,534 were called in person of which 1,182 were declared clear.

Seventeen policemen found involved in crimes were sacked while 122 were forced to retire.

According to enquiry report recommendations are made to award punishment to 352 personnel against whom proofs have been found.

During the hearing of the case at Supreme Court Registry here Justice Sajjad Ali Shah commented that the court knows the ongoing rift within the ranks and files of Sindh Police.

Expressed anger over absence of action against the policemen found involved in crimes the court summoned Chief Secretary Sindh on the next hearing.
