Sindh Police Submits Report in SC Over Arrest of Rao Anwar

Islamabad (January 31, 2018): The Inspector General Sindh police AD Khawaja has submitted a report in Supreme Court on Wednesday regarding the development made for the arrest of the SSP Rao Anwar, who was allegedly involved in murder of Naqeebullah Mehsud killing by staging fake encounter, saying police was working to trace the location of Rao Anwar.

Talking to media informally after submitting report in apex court, AD Khawaj told that Rao Anwar was in contact to various people via Whatsapp and police was trying hard to find out his whereabouts.

“Police don’t have such kind of system to trace out Whatsapp call, however Pakistan Telecommunication Limited (PTC) being contacted in this connection,” he said replying to a query.On a question why Rao Anwar easily escaped from Islamabad airport, he replied, “The question should be asked to Islamabad police.”

Responding another query, AD Khawaja said that police has done its work as Intelligence agencies being contacted for his arrest as soon as possible.

On January 30, after Supreme Court’s deadline to arrest former SSP Malir Rao Anwar, wanted in Naqeebullah murder case, ended on Tuesday Police raided his Islamabad residence but no arrests were made.

The capital city police raided a house in search of suspended SSP Malir Rao Anwar in the city’s F-10 vicinity but remained unsuccessful.

Islamabad police assisted Karachi police including teams from the Counter Terrrorism Department (CTD) and Crime Branch (CB) that continue to search for the suspended police official who, according to sources, was present in the federal capital.
