Multan: Sit-in Enters Day 7, CJP May Meet Striking Lawyers Today

Multan (December 20, 2017): Chief Justice Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar will visit the city today. During his visit the Chief Justice will visit the New Judicial Complex, which is at the centre of lawyers’ sit-in strike which entered Day 7 today, to review the facilities offered to lawyers and problems faced by litigants.

The Chief justice, who is expected to arrive in Multan at 3 p.m. may also meet the striking lawyers during  his visit of the New Judicial Complex building.

Meanwhile, the striking lawyers reiterated their resolve to continue staging the protest till the acceptance of their demands.

The striking lawyers, who are demanding shifting back the courts to Old Kutchery Complex, once again spent last night on the road with  ‘musical night’ continuing. They listened to music and many of them danced on the tunes and ignited bonfires to keep themselves warm.

Besides senior lawyers women lawyers are also participating in the strike.

The complete closure Kutchery Chowk and surrounding areas from all sides is causing posing immense hardships and difficulties to the people.

It may be mentioned here that the lawyers protest started on December 13 during which the lawyers went on a rampage breaking the window glasses, furniture, doors of the judges’ rooms, and other things at the newly built building.

Dozens of lawyers have been booked for vandalism while many of those named in the case registered have already courted arrest while many others have also been arrested.
