Smart Lockdown Imposed in 13 Areas of Karachi’s District West

KARACHI: Smart lockdown was imposed in 13 localities of District Went in Karachi today (Saturday) for a period 14 days due to spike in number of coronavirus cases in the city.

According to Deputy Commissioner, District West, MD Dharijo, smart lockdown will remain in force from today (December 5) to December18 in the COVID-19 affected areas of the district.

The 14-day smart lockdown was imposed in Baldia Town, Islamnagar, Saeedabad, Mohajir Camp, Maymarabad, Metroville, Gadap, Keamari, Yousuf Goth, Data Nagar, Hanifabad, Pak Colony, and Frontier Colony.

The Deputy Commissioner further informed that all coronavirus-related standard operating procedures (SOPs) will be strictly enforced in the affected areas during the smart lockdown.

He said that all businesses will remain closed, with the exception of grocery stores, medical stores and shops selling essential items.
