KARACHI: Smart lockdown was imposed in different areas of Central District of Karachi on Thursday in the wake of alarming surge in the number of coronavirus cases.
According to sources, smart lockdown was imposed in various blocks of Gulberg, North Nazimabad, Liaquatabad and North Karachi due the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in these areas in the past few day.
Smart lockdown will remain in force in these areas till December 10.
Furthermore, public transport in these areas have been banned along with public gatherings, while trade and commercial activities have also been suspended.
Only shops selling essential items and pharmacies may remain open, while one person from a household may leave the house at a time for necessary activities.
