IHC restricts Pakistanis to travel abroad without polio certificate

Report of International Health Committee on poliovirus suggested continuing screening Pakistanis for poliovirus in the wake of polio eradication whereas people travelling abroad should posses a polio certificate otherwise they would not be permitted to travel.

Committee’s next session is expected after six months and Pakistan would have to provide the record of people who had been given polio drops through anti-polio drive.

Report blamed Pakistan to have transferred poliovirus to Afghanistan three times in the past three months.

According to the report, travel sanctions will sustain for Cameron, Guinea, Pakistan and Syria.
