Islamabad (October 31, 2017): The protest by Baloch Students Council at Quaid-e-Azam University continued, which has disrupted academic activities at the campus.

On the other hand, police registered another FIR against the protesting students.

As per details, academic activities at QAU remained suspended on the second consecutive day due to the protest of students affiliated with Baloch Council. The protesting students keep the main gate of the University shut and did not allow the shuttle service to operate.

A heavy contingent of police and FC is present at the University campus to avert any untoward incident.
At the entry points of the university, police have been deployed and security measures have been increased. The shuttle service of the varsity has been suspended too.

The protesting students, who will hold a demonstration today as well, said their protest will continue until the rusticated students are reinstated. The university administration has kept quiet on the subject of resumption of educational activities.

In the beginning of October, students started protesting for better facilities at the hostels and for the cancellation of a recent hike in fees. However, sources had said their real reason for the protest was to pressurise the university administration to withdraw decision to expel their colleagues who had been dismissed from the university following clashes between two students’ groups earlier in the year.
