Supreme Court Hears Nawaz’s Plea On Medical Grounds

ISLAMABAD: A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Asif Khosa is hearing the plea filed by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on medical grounds seeking bail in Al-Azizia steel mills reference in which he was imprisoned for seven years.

As the hearing went underway, a copy of Doctor Lawrence’s letter on Nawaz Sharif’s health was presented before the Apex court.

To this, Chief Justice remarked that there was no proof that the submitted letter is authentic.

Chief Justice maintained that the letter was written by a man named Adnan and seems as if it was written by ‘one private individual to another’.

Nawaz Sharif’s counsel Khawaja Haris replied that the only purpose of presenting the letter before the court was to apprise that Nawaz was treated by doctors when his health deteriorated.
