ISLAMABAD: Motorway officials on Monday opened Swat and Islamabad motorway for light vehicles which will cut short distance between the two areas from five hours to two and a half hours.
The opening of motorway from Swat to Islamabad will benefit tourist traveling Swat, Kalam, Kamrat and Dir.
It is pertinent to mention here that Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan on May 14 ordering to open the Swat motorway had said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate the motorway formally after Eid-Ul-Fitr.
It is also pertinent to mention here previous chief minister of KP Pervez Khattak had laid the foundation stone of the project in the August 2016 while the project has been completed with Rs 43 billion.
