ISLAMABAD: The main accused in Tayyaba torture case, Maheem Zafar, wife of Additional District and Session Judge Raja Khurram Ali Khan, has broke her silence about the case and demanded of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to order re-investigation of the case.
In a written application, Maheen has said that the head of an influential ‘land mafia’ of twin cities was involved in conspiracy against her husband.
She added that they had been treating Tayyaba like family member and could not even think of torturing her.
She added that the reported torture on Tayyaba was spread on social media to malign them. She added that the land mafia defamed Raja Khurram through a concocted story.
Sources said that the application for re-investigation of the case had not yet been referred to police for action by the minister.
It is to be mentioned here that AD&SJ Raja Khurram and his wife Maheen was booked for allegedly torturing the child maid Tayyaba. The SC has also taken suo motu notice of the case.
