LARKANA:  The inquiry committee constituted by Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah over severe torture on a cadet college student by his teacher reached Larkana today.

The inquiry committee will visit Cadet College Larkana where they student was severely tortured due to which he has been bed-ridden since August 10. The committee will submit its report to Chief Minister for further action.

It is to be mentioned here that a teenage student was allegedly brutally tortured by staff at the Cadet College Larkana. Due to the alleged torture, Muhammad Ahmed, 13-and-a-half years old, has been bed-ridden since August 10, his father Muhammad Rashid said.

Rashid, himself a primary schoolteacher in Dargah Mashoori Sharif village of Larkana, said that his son’s academic record was excellent.

Due to the severe torture Ahmed ended up losing his senses and became paralysed.

Mohammed Ahmed is unable to digest food or chew it. He has been put on a liquid diet by doctors ever since he broke sensitive bones in his neck.

His father said his son was strangulated by his teacher so severely that sensitive bones in Mohammed Ahmed’s neck were broken. This gave the boy a paralysis attack and caused him to lose all his sense and become a mute as well. His son’s medical treatment is possible in the United States doctors have said, but his parents claim they don’t have the resources to take him there.

“My son has made no recovery in more than three months … the torture my son has been subjected to is visible to everyone,” said Rashid. “Since the day of the incident, my son had been on ventilator for 18 days and underwent dialysis 14 times.”

Earlier, Chief Minister Sindh while taking notice of the incident had said strict action would be taken against those responsible if the torture claims were proven. He directed provincial secretary health for treatment of the boy in Pakistan or America on government expenses.
