Terence Crawford Defeats Amir Khan To Retain Title

NEW YORK: American boxer Terence Allan Crawford defeated Amir Khan in a title match-up held at Madison Square Garden, New York on Sunday.

Khan was struck after being hit below the belt by Crawford at 0:47 of the sixth round.

It was ruled an accidental blow by referee David Fields and Khan would have been given five minutes to recover, but instead, Amir Khan’s corner informed the referee that he won’t be able to continue.

Consequently, with the referee waving it off and declared Crawford the winner by TKO.

With the win, the American boxing machine has continued to add another win to his unbeaten streak of 34 wins, making it 35-0.

The British fighter Amir Khan was a heavy underdog in the contest, with Crawford undefeated in 34 pro fights and a champion in three different weight divisions.

The judges, scoring on five rounds, awarded 48 points to Terence Crawford and 46 to Amir Khan.

Crawford edged out his British rival by two points in the scorecard and claimed three of five rounds.
