ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday said that some 10,000 Megawatts electricity will be added to national grid which will completely end load shedding in the country.
Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan was committed to Kashmir cause, adding that no power in the world can stop them from supporting the freedom struggle of Kashmiris.
Addressing the meeting of Central Executive Committee of PML-N, which held after a three and half year long gap, the Prime Minister said that those doing negative politics would fail like they failed in 2014.
Criticizing PTI and its chief Imran Khan without naming, Nawaz said that the government agenda was development, but certain people wanted to derail it. He said democracy allows right to protest to everyone but it should be within the limits. Those doing negative politics met with failure in 2014 and even now they would fail, he remarked in indirect reference to PTI’s planned protest.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that when PML-N took over in 2013 the country was facing numerous challenges and many of them were overcome. The government is striving to overcome all the challenges including terrorism and energy shortages, he added.
He said economy has been strengthened because of effective policies. Karachi operation was started with the consultation of all the stakeholders’, which is yielding positive results, he opined.
Nawaz Sharif said the government was also working for the development of Thar coal. Mining has started in Thar and coal-based power plants were also being installed there.
Nawaz Sharif said land had been acquired for Diamer Basha Dam and one hundred billion rupees had been released for this purpose. Nawaz Sharif said Balochistan will be the major beneficiary of the CPEC Project. He said motorways and highways worth one thousand billion rupees are being constructed in the country.
“We are also working on the social sector development and hospitals in different cities will be built in the next eighteen months, “ he added.
The Prime Minister said the government would fully compensate the farmers for the losses they have suffered due to low price of agricultural goods at the international market. He said subsidy was also being given for installation of solar tube wells in Balochistan.
He said India is mistaken if it considers that a freedom fight can be equated with terrorism.
