ISLAMABAD: Former President Asif Ali Zardari has advised the incumbent federal government to foresee into the upcoming times for the betterment of country instead of living in the past.
Addressing National Assembly floor, Zardari thanked opposition parties, speaker office, MQM-P and Akhter Mengal for their efforts in the issuance of his production orders.
This was former President’s first participation in National Assembly after being arrested by National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
He said that it was time to look forward into the future instead of mulling over the previous government’s decisions.
The prominent political figure also highlighted possibilities if he is apprehended.
“I won’t be affected if I am caught as my absence will only strengthen the party. I have been into jail and recently also recalled some memories of prison term”, he said.
“The government and opposition parties should gel with each other in order to come up with solutions to counter the economic crisis”.
“Who knows that my arrest may trigger the nation? The people who selected the government and the government itself should ponder over it”, he added.
Earlier, a team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had produced former president Asif Ali Zardari at Parliament House.
On this occasion, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto, his siblings Asifa and Bakhtawar Bhutto welcomed their father at the central gates of the House.
It is to be noted that NA Speaker Asad Qaiser on Wednesday issued his production orders which enable the former president to participate in NA session till June 28.
