Torkham border: Indiscriminate firing by Afghan forces, 12 injured

Twelve people including security personnel were injured when Afghan forces opened indiscriminate fire at Pak-Afghan border at Torkham. Due to tense situation Pakistani security forces have imposed curfew in Landi Kotal Bazaar and Torkhan for indefinite period while Pak-Afghan boulevard has also be emptied of vehicles of all types.

Two hundred families has moved from Bachamenah area near Pak-Afghan border to a safe place in Landi Kotal.

According to security sources Afghan forces opened unprovoked indiscriminate fire in Pakistani territory when fly, bridge, and gate were about to be installed on the Pakistani side of the border. The firing continued intermittently from late night to early morning and Pakistani security forces gave a befitting reply . Heavy arms were used by both the sides.

Mortar shells fired by Afghan forces fell into Pakistani territory.

A personnel of FC and Khasadar Force are among the twelve people injured. However, ISPR has confirmed that one FC personnel was injured.

The injured people were immediately shifted to District Headquarter Hospital Landi Kotal.
