Lahore (June 05, 2018): At least five people including a child were killed and sixteen injured as torrential rain on Tuesday wrought havoc on the creaky civic infrastructure of Lahore, Azad Kashmir causing flooding and widespread power outages.
The downpour followed by the thunderstorm with gusty winds of 100 per kilometre has exposed the NTDC power distribution system and half of the city plunged into dark just minutes after the raindrops started lashing out the city.
The roofs of houses collapsed in Raiwind and Barki killing two children, an unknown person has also died and three others injured when the roof of a house caved-in in Shahdrah.
The most of the electric wires snapped and poles rooted out that caused the mega breakdown in the city.
The officials of the Lahore Electric Supply Company said that the supply of electricity will be restored soon.
PIA Planes Grounded
Two PIA planes have been grounded after damaged due to the thunderstorm. According to details two trolleys hit with the force of wind hit planes that severely damaged them and forced the administration to ground the planes.
The rain was also reported in Abbottabad, Murree. Hazara division, Gujrat, Pindi Bhatian, Sargodha and other parts of the Punjab and KP.
Islamabad: Thunderstorm and heavy downpour lashed out capital and damaged the power distribution system.
The heavy rain has exposed the civil aviation authority claims over newly constructed New Islamabad Airport as roofs of the airport started leakage and water accumulated the various portion of the airport.
It is pertinent to say that the new airport was constructed at the cost of 15 billion rupees.
The thunderstorm followed by rain also played havoc in parts of Azad Kashmir as two persons including a child were killed and six injured.

According to details due to heavy rains a roof of a house in District Bagh, Sandhonti, collapsed that caused the killing of two persons including a child. 30 houses and 20 shops washed damaged due to gusty winds.
