Interior Ministry has changed Terms of References (TOR’s) of Joint Interrogation Team (JIT) set up against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leadership.
In the new TOR’s direct allegations of taking funds and arms from Indian Intelligence agency RAW were taken back.
Sources said that the TOR’s for the JIT in chair of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) director Mazhar Kakakhail, have been changed and the JIT will work under the new TOR’s.
Sources said that under the new TOR’s accusations against the MQM leadership of getting financial support and arms buying from RAW have been excluded, while money laundering point remained for investigation.
Moreover, Sarfaraz Merchant and an officer of Pakistan High Commission in Britain Shaharyar Niyazi have been included as informer.
According to after the inclusion of Shahyaryar Niazi for investigation the JIT will interview him as well and collect his documents as evidence. After thoroughly investigating the statements of Sarfaraz Merchant and Shaharyar Niazi and in light of their documents within two weeks it will submit report to the interior ministry.
